Introducing the absolutely stunning hyper-realistic portraits by artist Erica Elan Ciganek.
What we loved is the fact that she paints her portraits on raw pieces of plywood to create textured paintings, helping to evoke the emotions in her subject’s faces.
Erica Elan Ciganek is a painter based in Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of North Park University where she majored in both Art and Conflict Transformation. She took her first painting class senior year of high school, and has, with great interest, participated as this passion grew. She works mainly in the medium of oil paint, but is simultaneously interested in film photography, music, and drawing.
“I by no means have discovered what it really means to humble myself to intricacy and intimacy of making art, or to allow the image to emerge out of that humility, but it is these values that I currently wrestle towards in my work”, she says.
