Bulgarian startup Simply Petrol was founded by Anastas Mateev and Branimir Nikolov with the aim of creating a marketplace connecting automotive artists with car art lovers worldwide, bringing fine car art closer to its enthusiasts.

Anastas Mateev and Branimir Nikolov’s love of cars goes back a long way: all the way back to when two boys stared through the windows of their parents’ cars, shouting out the makes and models of the cars passing by. These boys became friends, united by their love of cars.

The story continues with one moving to another country as a student, with all of his belongings crammed into a tiny Peugeot, and on top of them his most prized possession: a giant framed poster of a Le Mans Ferrari.

But it was after spending some serious time looking for quality automotive posters or art prints to decorate their garages and man caves, only to discover that there was no single platform dedicated to automotive art, that Anastas and Branimir’s story becomes a mission; After exchanging hundreds of links of automotive art, they decided to start their own business, offering the grown-up version of car magazine posters.

Simply Petrol is exactly that: an online marketplace dedicated to automotive fine art, connecting artists with car art lovers from all over the world.

Serving as a virtual gallery where artists can find an audience for their photographic, digital or physical art, Simply Petrol currently offers more than 40 artworks created by 10 different artists, showcasing both original creative works and reproductions of artwork in a variety of techniques such as pencil, ink, acrylic, oil, and aquarelles, computer-generated graphics and photo art, as well as limited edition and larger prints. Some of the artists presently featured include Yahn Janou, who has created posters for major motorsport events like 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nicolas Cancelier, known for his stunning racing Ferrari aquarelles, and Nikolai Ivanov, whose “Citroën in Lines” series portrays both classic and modern Citroën designs through computer generated lines.

Though the platform’s searchable database, car art lovers can easily access fine car art from all over the world. The artwork is also grouped into collections such as ‘Les grandes voitures de Citroën’, dedicated to the classic French luxobarges, ‘50’s tailfin era’, which focuses on the American penchant for tailfins, and ‘Scuderia Le Mans’, a collection of Ferrari Le Mans racers art prints.

Simply Petrol is constantly looking to expand its collection, and invites independent artists to submit their work through the website. There are no limits set on the artist’s medium; any creative styles and techniques are welcome. The only restriction is on the subject matter: Simply Petrol is all about interpretations of speed and automotive beauty.

Whether you’re looking for something to fill the void above your fireplace, an original way to decorate a boy’s room or an office, or the perfect gift for the car aficionado in your life, Simply Petrol is a great place to start.

If you’re curious to know how Anastas and Branimir’s story plays out, visit Simply Petrol on http://simplypetrol.com.
