Robert Nightingale, U.S. creative director for Sweden’s BikeID, wants to make stunningly beautiful, smartly utilitarian bicycles that will last for generations. The “classic innovation” ethos of his company is making that dream a reality by combining iconic and elegant bicycle design with contemporary and cutting edge components and materials.
This season, BikeID‘s collection boasts four beautiful limited edition designs, in Copper, Chrome and Raw. These three exclusive models are only available in limited supply and for a limited time. Each metal design is available for their Diamond model, while the Copper design is also available as a Step-Through.
Like their classic line, the Diamond limited editions have a 22″ frame and are made out of durable Chromoly steel, before being hand finished. Their color-matched hand made leather grips are from Beau Veló in Paris, while minimalist BIKEID mudguards are an optional add-on.
Part of BikeID’s exclusive and limited metal series, the Diamond Raw is a light minimalist city bike with a sleek raw steel frame. Eliminating the clutter of cables and levers, this bike has an automatic two-speed gear system by SRAM built into the rear hub by which shifts seamlessly up and down at 11 Mph. The Diamond also comes with a built-in coaster brake in addition to the a front brake system by Tektro.
