Located a million miles away in a northern beachside suburb of Manly in Sydney, Australia, lies the industrial-chic space called Donny’s Bar - was created by former Beresford staffer and Manly local Matt Clifton. Serving Asian-inspired dishes in an atmospheric setting based on a New York loft, the dimly lit space of Donny’s Bar was designed by Australian architects and interior designers **Luchetti Krelle,**an award winning Sydney based, architecture and interior design firm established by Stuart Krelle and Rachel Luchetti.
“The brief was to create a warm and friendly New York style loft bar which would serve Asian style tapas and dumplings – on a tight budget,” the designers explained. “Avoiding overt Asian theming, we instead opted for a pared-back approach to the design.”
We absolutely loved the polished copper counter as well as the range of recycled materials that were used to transform the stark space into a dark and atmospheric bar with exposed brick walls and concrete flooring throughout Donny’s Bar. Thumbs up, mates.
