Gentlemen Only by Givenchy

Gentlemen Only by Givenchy

The gentlemen’s club is opening its doors to Gentlemen Only, the new fragrance with the woody elegance by Givenchy. And to his ambassador, the ultimate serial seducer, Mr. Simon Baker.

Gentlemen Only is a modern homage to the classic fragrance of the house. Created for bold and daring men, this freshly spiced fragrance has primary scents of a blend of green mandarin, pink peppercorn, musk and birch leaf. The fragrance is picked up by a background scent of a trio of fine woods – cedar, vetiver and patchouli. An evocative fusion, which gives the fragrance its incense tones. And all that manages to get into that bluish setting with a magnetic and incandescent sheen, a bottle adorned with a woody-metallic sleeve in a gunmetal grey. Mysterious yet transparent.

But do note that it was back in 1975 when the first edition of Gentlemen was issued – an assertive signature scent blending Cologne and lavender. “These days being a gentleman takes a different kind of style and finesse” read the tagline for Givenchy‘s 1974 ad campaign for their robustly masculine scent Givenchy Gentleman. Now in 2013, the Givenchy gentleman hasn’t aged one bit and remains loyal to himself: uncomplicated, adventurous and sophisticated. The natural elegance of Gentlemen Only stays true to the image of a real gentleman. It isn’t anachronistic but grows bolder with age. This is an evolving fragrance that falls between myth and modernism by branching out onto the social networks.

And as for his ambassador…. Well, Givenchy has chosen the ultimate serial seducer, Mr. Simon Baker to represent this wild and timeless fragrance. And with his enlightening, natural charm, he perfectly embodies the spirit of today’s gentleman – the ideal male and a modern-day hero.
