Heritage Paris 007 Cycle: Push the pedals

French bicycle makers Heritage Paris are commemorating the 23rd Bond film premieres of “Skyfall” with a very special 007 themed frame. It should not come as a surprise. Besides, this Commander just celebrated his 50th anniversary. Two French brothers, Alex and Simon Billard, joined with Cyril Saulnier to become Heritage Paris, a custom bicycle house that combines a distinctly French sense of style with a passion for quality engineering. Note, that they employ the skills of Daniel Hanart, a notorious racing cyclist and frame builder who created the machine that Jeannie Longo won the 1985 hour record upon. Naturally, the serial number of this frame, 007, provided a natural inspiration for the Bond theme. If you stop and think about it for a moment, or two, the 1964 film “Goldfinger” is referenced by the 24 karat forks and lugs, a stark contrast to the matte black ‘tuxedo’ of the frame, while Paul’s Royal Flush chainring and cranks are a subtle allusion to “Casino Royale”. The seat post is also made by Paul, which supports a Brooks saddle etched with the Heritage logo. Well, frame 007 has been assigned a special mission: It will be exhibited as part of designer Thomas Erber’s Cabinet de Curiosities at the Berlin boutique of Andreas Murkudis (from 22nd of November 2012 to the 23rd January 2013).
