“Hong Kong Yesterday” is a beautiful look at Hong Kong during the 1950’s and 1960’s by award winning photographer, Fan Ho.

Do note that the Limited Edition Box Set contains a cloth bound hard cover First Edition Book Signed book (9.5 x11 inches) 112 pages, 70 dual-color plates and a limited edition signed and numbered with a 8 x 10 inch print, Controversy, matted and placed in a matching clamshell box.

And this: back in 2012, Fan Ho was rated “one of the Most Infuential Asian Photographers” by Invisible Photographer, Asia.

Intrigued by life around him, Fan always loved to wait for the composition to take place when capturing a picture. Armed with his Rolleiflex, one frame at the time. The result takes you back in time in Hong Kong from its pure simplicity with Black and White.

Award-wining photographer Fan Ho has won 280 awards from international exhibitions and competitions worldwide since 1956. Ho has been elected Fellow of the Photographic Society of America, Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, England; Honorary Member of the Photographic Societies of Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, Singapore and etc, and was honored with One-Man-Shows in the above countries. Ho’s works can be seen and have been published in many International Photographic Annuals all over the world.Fan Ho has been invited by 12 Universities in Taiwan and Hong Kong as “Visiting Professor, ” teaching the art of film-making and photography.Fan Ho has written five books, one of them containing all his award-winning prints that is currently a permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco. In 2010, Fan Ho revisited negatives from the Hong Kong era that were never printed. By physically holding up two negatives up to the light, Fan Ho would play with composition. Once he created something that pleased him he would place the sandwiched negatives on the scanner and digitize it. Click on “New Work” above to see more. These new images are an edition of 20 and are available matted to 22×28.

Fan Ho is currently living in California and Hong Kong and is represented by Modernbook Gallery. Vintage Prints are GSP, printed by the artist, and range in price from $2,000 to $10,000 plus, depending on size an availability.
