Introducing Pencil by FiftyThree

Pencil, designed by FiftyThree, is the wireless tool that actually allows you to do everything a regular, common pencil could, just not on paper, but on your iPad. Sounds fantastic? Well, it is.

Ask yourself: what is the most natural and expressive tool for getting ideas on paper? The answer is also the solution to all creative iPad users worldwide. The Pencil, a revolutionary Bluetooth stylus for touch-screen devices.. Of course, it’s not just any pencil, but the one that FiftyThree (makers of the award-winning Paper app) introduced us to recently. By pairing Pencil with the iPad via Bluetooth, this is able to perform “palm-rejection”, in other words, you can rest your hand on the screen, while drawing. This is a very good example of advanced technology meeting beautiful design to keep you in the flow, without needing to switch tools. With Erase, Blend, and adaptive Palm Rejection, Pencil puts creative possibility in your hands. And when you’re trying to draw, you don’t have to use the tip of your finger, because the pencil tip can do this for you, just like a common pencil would.

What amazed us is this though: this magic wand comes with a lithium-ion battery that can be recharged at any USB port (and by the way, this succeeds in under 90 minutes). But the thing is that a single charge should last about a whole month. Talking about long lasting…

And yes: The Pencil is available in two versions to choose from, if you dare – “Graphite”, made from brushed aluminium and “Walnut”, made from sustainable hardwood.

Do note this though: Pencil, is set to cost $50 when it hits stores in the next days, but only works with an updated version of Paper.
