rag & bone film featuring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Lil Buck

Ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov, 67, sartorial and sophisticated, holds his own alongside raw street dancer Lil Buck, 26, in the latest rag & bone menswear campaign for Fall/Winter 2015.

In the video, the 67-year-old dancer, who was born in Riga, Latvia (former Soviet Union) and now lives in New York City, showcases a more contemporary style than fans might be used to seeing, as he and 26-year-old Lil Buck spin, flip, twist and turn around one another. So obvious is their on-screen chemistry, although they may hail from two different eras,  that Rag and Bone designers and managing partners Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have admitted that they are confident the video will become a viral success.

“Our confidence is relatively high,” Wainwright said. “This is one of the better things we’ve done,” Neville added. “Times have changed,” Wainwright said. “Runway shows don’t resonate with the regular guy. So we wanted to challenge ourselves and engage people. We hope it’s memorable.”
