The surreal world of Erik Johansson

Erik Johansson is a brilliant photographer (and a brilliant retoucher too) from Sweden. He uses photography as a way of collecting material to realise the ideas within his mind.

Based in Berlin, Germany, working both on personal and commissioned projects with his Hasselblad, he doesn’t just capture moments, but ideas. To Erik Johansson, one photo can consist of hundreds of different images. This is exactly how he wants it to look: as if this surreal world of his was just instantly captured for all eternity.

“Every new project is a new challenge and the goal is to realize it as realistic as possible”, he says smiling. “The only thing that limits us is our imagination”.
